Training future generations of Haitian filmmakers and artists is an important goal of Ciné Institute, in hopes that we are able to stimulate the film industry across our country in the areas of production, distribution, and promotion. As our own industry continues to grow, we strive to be a bigger part of global and foreign productions as well.
In fact, more and more production companies from around the world are now considering Haiti as a legitimate destination for film production. One of these companies is micro_scope from Canada, who recently came in to film some scenes for the upcoming feature “Guibord s’en va-t-en guerre,” directed by the talented Phillipe Falardeau. Led by producers Luc Déry and Kim McCraw, micro_scope’s objective is to produce exceptional and relevant films that truly capture the public’s critical perceptions. This objective has found success, as many of their films have won awards at some of the most prestigious film festivals around the world!
We were truly honored to have had the opportunity to work with Mr. Falardeau and his team on the filming of “Guibord s’en va-t-en guerre”! Thank you for allowing us to be part of the impact your work will have on the future and in the many projects to come! We hope this will inspire many other projects to come enjoy the wealth of scenery, talent, and hard-work of Haiti and its people.
