The port city of Jacmel, Haiti was hit hard by the January earthquake. Long known as a center for arts and crafts, Jacmel has the only film school in the country. As soon as the earthquake struck, students from the Cine Institute took their cameras into the streets to document what was happening. Their footage was picked up by international networks and seen on TV screens around the world. It’s a far cry from the fiction films they had been working on before the disaster.
