This past summer, Widelande Edmé spent two months in Paris studying film on a full scholarship at La Fémis. While at Fémis, she shot a short documentary entitled Un Regard, filmed during an afternoon spent at the home of a Haitian family living in the multicultural Parisian subrub of Montreuil-sous-bois. Recently, Widelande also had the opportunity to attend the Sunny Side of the Doc Film Festival in la Rochelle where she met a number of potential film colloborators, mentors, and creative colleagues with whom she remains in touch. Widelande’s trip to France was her first experience leaving Haiti. Not only did she make many diverse friends, but she also received a rigorous short-film education which compliments her prior foundational studies here at Ciné Insitute, particularly in the art of documentary filmmaking. Congratulations Widelande Edmé on your wonderful achievements!
