Kehinde Wiley is a New York-based portrait painter, who is known for his highly naturalistic paintings featuring people of color in vivid florals and regal poses reminiscent of old master painters. Kehinde is here in Jacmel doing research and model casting for his next painting series which will focus on the young people and artists of Haiti. He and his team were fascinated by the idea of Artists Institute and sought out our school! Kehinde spoke with Ciné Institute students and was deeply impressed with their stories and passion for art. Thank you for visiting Ciné Institute and exploring Jacmel, we look forward to seeing the finished portraits!
